About this item
One of the world’s most iconic “Super Tuscan” wines, the 2022 vintage of Tignanello continues the legacy that changed Italian winemaking forever. Produced by the historic Antinori family in the heart of Tuscany’s Chianti Classico region, Tignanello was revolutionary for being one of the first Tuscan reds to blend Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc while aging in French oak barriques.
Wine Description
Deep ruby red with vibrant purple reflections, the 2022 opens with expressive aromas of ripe cherry, black cherry, pomegranate, violet, and fresh balsamic herbs. Elegant layers of vanilla, spice, and subtle sweet tobacco emerge as the wine opens in the glass.
On the palate, Tignanello is rich yet remarkably refined, balancing power with freshness. Silky, polished tannins frame flavors of dark cherry, blackberry, plum, cocoa, and spice, leading to a long, structured finish with lingering mineral and savory notes. The 2022 vintage shows excellent concentration while maintaining the energy and elegance that define great Tignanello.

Winery Notes
The Antinori family has been making wine in Tuscany for over 600 years and 26 generations. Tignanello comes exclusively from the Tenuta Tignanello estate in the rolling hills between the Greve and Pesa valleys in Chianti Classico. The vineyard sits at elevations of 350–400 meters with limestone-rich soils of alberese and galestro, ideal for producing structured, age-worthy wines.
Originally released in the early 1970s, Tignanello became a landmark wine that helped launch the “Super Tuscan” movement by breaking traditional Chianti rules and focusing on quality over convention. Today it remains one of Italy’s most collectible and influential wines.
