Achados & Perdidos 28 Uvas Vinho Tinto

From Portugal’s rugged Douro Valley, Achados & Perdidos “28 Uvas” is a fascinating old-vine field blend crafted from an astonishing 28 native grape varieties, many sourced from organically farmed vineyards rooted in black schist soils. The project began when winemakers discovered a traditional family-made wine from forgotten old vines high in the Douro terraces and worked to preserve both the vineyard and its heritage. Fermented naturally with wild yeasts, the wine opens with layered aromas of dark berries, plum, red cherry, and baking spice, accented by earthy mineral notes and a touch of pepper. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied with balanced acidity, supple tannins, and a smooth, savory finish that reflects the complexity of the blend and the rugged Douro terroir.  Rustic yet polished, it offers remarkable character and value. This versatile Portuguese red pairs beautifully with grilled meats, braised lamb, hearty pasta dishes, or aged cheeses, making it an excellent companion for rich, flavorful meals and relaxed gatherings.
