Domaine Asseray Cremant de Loire

From the Loire Valley just south of Angers, Domaine Asseray Anjou Rouge is a fresh, fruit-driven expression of the region’s classic red wine tradition of cabernet franc. The Asseray family has been farming the land since 1931, with the estate now in the hands of fourth-generation winemakers Emmanuel and Aurélie. Today, the 57-hectare family domaine focuses on expressing the character of its Loire vineyards while farming with an emphasis on biodiversity and sustainable practices. The wine shows bright aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and red cherry, layered with delicate floral and lightly spicy notes. On the palate, it is fresh and silky with fine tannins, lively acidity, and a lovely balance between juicy red fruit and subtle earthy character. Light on its feet but full of flavor, it is an incredibly versatile red that works beautifully slightly chilled. Pair it with roast chicken, grilled pork, charcuterie, mushroom dishes, spaghetti Bolognese, or a simple French cheese board.
